Currie Barracks

Currie Barracks was intended to create a new central public gathering space surrounded by dense street connected commercial and residential buildings. The public space was carefully designed to deflect winter winds to become an all-season environment. Ongoing consultations about the evolving design were had with Canada Lands.

An urban grocer was the commercial centrepiece of the project with full underground accessibility for patrons, allowing for an at grade, smaller scale retail environment, not typical for a large grocer.
