Form Follows Something

We don’t subscribe to a fixed design aesthetic or style at BOP. We believe that architecture should be a direct response to the unique conditions of each project—its context, purpose, users, constraints, developers, builders, and designers. “Form Follows Something.” Instead of imposing a predetermined look or formula, we tailor every design to the specific needs and opportunities at hand. Pragmatism and opportunism are not dirty words at BOP.
While we seek to achieve something beautiful and maintain a modern design sensibility, we are equally excited by the variety that emerges when designs respond honestly to their site, client, and the opportunities and constraints of each project. This approach allows us to remain open and flexible, creating buildings that feel authentic and relevant rather than forced or generic.
We resist the temptation to start with a signature style or visual language. Instead, we immerse ourselves in the project’s complexities—listening carefully, analyzing deeply, and synthesizing diverse inputs—to develop bespoke solutions that are meaningful and fitting. Every BOP project is an original exploration. By avoiding aesthetic presuppositions, we craft distinctive buildings that respond thoughtfully to the world around them.
